In all of our nurseries we have achieved Health Promoting Early Years status through our commitment to provide our children with, and teach them about healthy lifestyles. We have achieved a 5 Star Food Safety Award under the National Food Hygiene Rating Scheme.  We are members of the Pre-School Learning Alliance.  We are committed to continuous improvement and have completed the Pre-School Learning  Alliance Quality Assurance Scheme 'Reflecting on Quality'.  We have also been finalists and winners in many awards, we are in the top 20 Nurseries in day nurseries.co.uk and most recently won the award for Best Staff Development from the national nursery recognition awards

All our staff have clearly established roles which link to their qualifications and experience. There are opportunities to progress throughout the nursery groups through promotion, this enables staff to continually improve their qualification levels and experience.  We have many long term employees as we value all members of our team and we all work together as reflective practitioners.  Experienced staff model good practice and mentor newer staff and students.  Our staff team are passionate about their work and genuinely care about and cherish the children parents have entrusted to us.

Each nursery has a cook, cleaner, accounts manager and maintainence staff ensuring that the high quality standards in each nursery is the Manager's and Director's main priority.

We have a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) in each setting who spends one to one time with children, parents and staff, giving advice and support to ensure the best possible care and education is given to the children in our care.

We have two Area Managers who ensure the staff have high expectations of themselves and of our children to ensure each child makes excellent progress through the nursery. They also help to support the management and staff to identify training needs and keep up to date with new legislation.

>What our staff say:

My name is Jo. I have been working at Jack and Jill’s since 2003, I thoroughly enjoy my job as it is interesting, fun and enjoyable. During my time here, I have worked my way up from baby room supervisor to manager and now Area Manager, and continue to further my knowledge and skills through regular training and research. Helping the children to grow and develop is very rewarding knowing we are making a positive difference to the children and families we care for.

My name is Laura, I have been working at Jack and Jill Seacombe since 2004. I have really enjoyed being part of a lovely team and find working here very enjoyable! I am currently employed as Room Supervisor in toddler room working in the 2-3 age group. Everyday is different and I love to see the children grow and develop and be happy in their environment.

Hi my name is Beccy, I have worked for Jack and Jill since 2004. During my time here I have gained lots of experience and have furthered my education by attending various courses. I started as a toddler room nursery nurse working my way up to Supervisor, Deputy Manager. I then stepped up to Manager to cover maternity leave which led to a full time position. During this time I learned lots and gained confidence dealing with staff and parents and helping the staff to further their education. I have met lots of new people and gained some lovely friends. I am currently working as a floater working in all of the rooms as needed. This was a decision made when returning to work after the birth of my son. I felt that working part time was best for me and my family and was lucky enough that Jack and Jill could accommodate me with a new position.

My name is Claire and I have been working at Jack and Jill Day Nursery since March 2004. I first worked in the Oxton nursery for 5 years and then I moved to the Seacombe nursery where I have been for 5 years. In my time working at Jack and Jill I have enjoyed my job as a Nursery Nurse, working and caring for the children and also working as part of a team.
